The World's First Hotel Missoni

The first hotel of the planned international chain of Italian fashion houses Missoni opened in Edinburgh (United Kingdom). Six-storied building in the Royal Mile is square in shape and fits nicely in the city of ancient architecture.

As you know, the House of Missoni is famous for its bright and colorful fabrics and knitwear. Designers meticulously maintained corporate brand identity - sheets, tablecloths and napkins, even entirely in zigzags and stripes.

The draft includes items of furniture from such famous designers as Marcel Seynds (Marcel Sandes), Eero Saarinen (Eero Saarinen), Jacobson, Arne (Arne Jacobson) and Hans Wegner (Hans Wegner). The rooms have telephones by Jacob Jensen (Jacob Jensen) and TV system Bang & Olufsen.

We are preparing for the construction of hotels Missoni and other cities in the world - such as Kuwait (Kuwait), Cape Town (South Africa), Jebel Sifah (Oman), and Elias de Kazheba (Brazil).

Floating House Of Brad Pitt

The American team of architects Morphosis completed floating house for charity actor Brad Pitt "Make It Right "in New Orleans. The project was implemented in collaboration with graduates of the University of California, which located in Los Angeles.

This house can easily withstand a flood, floating on the water surface with increasing water level. This is possible because the house stands on a chassis made of a foam plastic foam, clad in reinforced concrete and fiberglass. House actually becomes flesh during the flood (which, as we know, happen in New Orleans very often) and can climb to a height of up to 3.7 meters.

The house is not designed to ensure that during the floods there were residents, but the architects are hoping that the project will allow them to quickly jelly back after the disaster.

Upholstery Mosses

Japanese design bureau Nendo Studio completed re private residence in the area of Ebisu, Tokyo. Designers were inspired by plants that cover the embankment of the nearby River. Artist Oki Seto used dried moss to decorate the walls of the house pattern, reminiscent of curly branches vines. Thus the artist wants to bring to room atmosphere something to really live.

Oki Seto explains that the word "Nendo" denotes "very soft, very thin, easily changeable clay." The artist said that members of the studio, unlike most people who try to draw inspiration not in the magazines and pictures, or traveling somewhere far beyond the new sensations, but in natural forms, natural formations and everyday life.

Registration of this house - a perfect example of symbiosis of the natural content of modern graphic forms.

According to Oka Seto, cover the wall completely with moss, it would be impractical. Therefore studio has created a pattern of moss, resembling ordinary wallpaper. And so it turns out that the decoration of the room either natural or artificial.

To combine all the rooms of the house in the same stylistic pace, door jambs and plug sockets were decorated with similar patterns. Oki Seto said that such a move could lead to the sorting in the design, but adjusted the mixture of natural materials and images look balanced.
