His 132-storey complex will be built in the south of Roosevelt Island (Roosevelt Island), symbolizing the need for environmental sustainability. The main focus of the conceptual design - an attempt to create a completely self-sufficient organism that is recycling solar, wind, water, and can produce food, in the midst of a megacity.

After an era of blind drawing, the Chinese architecture of today is an exotic mix of imported and home innovations.

Charts Central Office is headed by China Central Television (China Central Television headquarters, which is building in Beijing OMA (OMA). Unusual structure of the building not only built under an unusual angle, but also justified, as not only a stylistic gesture. The building will become the second largest business center in the the world after the Pentagon building (Pentagon). The width of the holes in the center - 200 meters.

In recent years, China has enthusiastically patronized the Western avant-garde. Difficult to recall at least one well-known in the architectural world, the name which is not noted on the Chinese soil. Kengo Kuma (Kengo Kuma), Morfozis (Morphosis), Zaha Hadid (Zaha Hadid), Hertsog and de Merun (Herzog & de Meuron), Steven Holl (Steven Holl), Kuup Himmelblau (Coop Himme (l) blau), and others.

China during the turbulent lives of urbanization. Today, about 529 million Chinese (41% of the population) already live in cities, it was necessary to build about 400 new towns for the 1 million residents by 2020 the ninth year. Planners and architects are overwhelmed work. "Every planner in China executes 10 projects a year. He had no time to think, so just have to copy the European style of architecture, "- said Albert Chan (Albert Chan), Chinese architect.

Spanish Company Arhitektorskoy Office

Spanish architecture firm Selgas Cano recently unveiled their new office in Madrid. Located within a forest, the tube-like structure is half-sunken into the ground, giving the illusion of complete isolation. A large window runs the entire length of the structure and forms part of the roof, ensuring workers a panoramic view of the surrounding woods. The office is entered via a partially-hidden stairwell and has retractible shutters at the end of the structure. Selgas Cano’s design is seen here photographed by world-renowned dutch architecture photographer Iwan Baan.

Dubai Opera House

We are surprised the closest architect Zaha Hadid has reached our radars is metonymic Dongdaemun World Design Park near the Teardrop post. This is an example of Zaha's work. This is her firm's recently-announced Dubai Opera House.

The reason I find this most amazing? Most of the popular buildings being built now, like Burj Dubai, Chicago Spire and almost any Gehry project is that it stands out from its surroundings. See a city of bricks and glass? Throw a building that's all curved metal. Why put up a building when you could put up a building that twists? but there's something dreamy about Hadid's projects where she embraces the surroundings. Look at this project again.

This looks like a pile of sand dunes to me. It is being built on a new island off the city of Dubai (new islands are so the rage these days). Inside this project, we find a 2,500-seat opera house, an 800-seat playhouse, arts gallery with 54,000 square feet of space (5,000 square meters), performing arts school and a themed hotel. Of course, everything's state of the art, as is the norm in Dubai these days. The island:

Here's the entrance to the opera house.

The interior will be just as amazing.

I can't get over how elegant and appropriate this project is. It's like an eroded mound sticking out of sand dunes. Jaw on floor. Here are some more photos for your digestion. Construction on the island started in 2006, but we'll keep tabs as this project develops and is completed at an un-announced future date.
